Iris Trask,

Iris has been Principal of GSS since the fall of 2005 and was Vice Principal for three years before that. She has been on staff of the school since 1995, working as a Special Education teacher prior to becoming Principal. Her teaching background includes the areas of Special Education, Drama, Choir, English and Elementary Music. She has taught in Prince George, Stikine, and Rocky Mountain School Districts. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, both from the University of Calgary. Iris believes strongly in the school mission statement: "Every student at Golden Secondary School will cross the Graduation stage with purpose, dignity and options."

Angela Stott
Vice Principal

Having called Pemberton home for 16 years prior to moving to Golden, Angela and her family relocated to Kicking Horse Country in the summer of 2012. Prior to moving to Golden, Angela worked for School District 48 as a teacher, teacher librarian, district literacy coordinator, district assessment for learning lead, and Vice Principal. Her passion as an educational leader is excellence in teaching.  Angela holds a Diploma of Criminal Justice, a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology and Leadership Studies. Although she spends a lot of time at GSS, she finds time to explore the area on bike, skis and foot, and also likes to read some good fiction, use social media, and find good coffee shops.
