We are here to serve you! Check out our link for more information: http://gsseagleslibrary.wordpress.com/
The Learning Commons staff at Golden Secondary school aim to provide a collection of books and resources (including magazines, databases and media) that augment learning at GSS as well as encourage a culture where reading for pleasure is commonplace.
We are always searching out the next "big" book, and welcome recommendations to add to our collection. Our goal is to have more people borrow books from the library and, to do that, we work with you - the student, the parent, the staff member - to ensure we have a collection that represents the needs and demands of our school community.
In other words, MAKE THE LEARNING COMMONS WORK FOR YOU! Take the time to talk to the Learning Commons staff when you are having difficulty finding materials you want and need. We will be pleased to give assistance with locating information, outline, note-taking and text referencing. Our collection is searchable from our computers in the Learning Commons. It is definitely not necessary to ever get frustrated. ASK FOR HELP!
In addition to our print collection, we have 30 computers available for your use. Please feel free to spend your lunch hour or the time you have before school in the library catching up on the news, completing project work, or learning about something new.
The Learning Commons is also open EVERY DAY AT LUNCH. Many students, once they have eaten, come to the library to use computers, read or visit with friends. It is also a good place to complete assignments.
Please make every effort to return library books on time. You can always renew a book if there is no one waiting for it! The loan period is FOUR WEEKS.
