Principal's Message for February 2019
Congratulations to all students for their efforts in finishing first semester courses and thank you to all staff for their work in getting grade 10-12 students prepared for semester one final assessments.
We were sad to say goodbye to a number of international students at the end of the semester. We will miss these students but are happy to welcome a number of new students to Selkirk for the second half of the year. We were also sad to say goodbye to KAS Youth Care Worker Rhonda Haws and long-time Vice-Principal, Greg Thygesen and wish them all the best! We are happy to welcome Leah Jossy back to Selkirk in a Physical Education position and Scott McInnis who will be teaching Leadership, Explorations 9, and various classes out of the Learning Commons.
February will be a busy month with activities such as Pink Shirt Day and Grad Transition presentations later in the month. We will also be going through the course selection process for next school year with our grade 10-12 students. A reminder for parents to contact your child’s teacher(s) anytime during the semester should you wish an update on his/her academic progress.
Here’s to another great month at Selkirk.
