Career Education Capstone - Interview/Presentation
Graduation Transitions (Grad Trans) is now called Career Education Capstone Project. It is a required aspect for attaining a High School Diploma in BC. It is an extension of Planning 10 and requires you to think proactively about your future. As the year is quickly getting underway, please be reminded that you should be working on your project so that you’re prepared for your Exit Interview in February.
There are deadlines that must be met on a monthly basis:
Friday, September 28, 2018 - Deadline number one for Resume
Friday, October 26, 2018 – Deadline number two for Cover letter, start DPA forms and healthy living plan
Thursday, November 22, 2018 – In School assembly to check for student progress
Friday, November 23, 2018 - Deadline number three for annual Budget, Plan A and B
Friday, January 25, 2019 – Deadline number four for online portfolio completed and preparation for interview process
Tuesday, February 5, 2019 - Final assembly
Tuesday, February 26, 2019 - Exit Interview
Exit Interview: there will be a interview panel consisting of Selkirk PAC members, local business owners, Selkirk staff, and SD6 Administrative staff. You will be asked to present your future plans using an online portfolio (as seen below) highlighting who you are and what your plan is after graduation.
You will sign up for a presentation time at our Grade 12 assembly on Tuesday, February th, 2019 (second C Block). This will also be your third and final Capstone ‘class’. All Grade 12's must attend this meeting. If you have a conflict with the Exit Interview date, you MUST talk to Mr. Sharun ASAP and an alternative date for an interview will be arranged.
