Graduation Transitions (Grad Trans) is a required aspect for attaining a High School Diploma in BC. It is an extension of Planning 10 and requires you to think proactively about your future. As the year is quickly getting underway, please be reminded that you should be working on your Grad Trans project so that you’re prepared for your Exit Interview in February.
There are deadlines that must be met on a monthly basis:
Friday, September 29, 2017 - Deadline number one for Graduation Transitions (Resume)
Friday, October 27, 2017 – Deadline number two for Graduation Transitions (Cover letter, start DPA forms, healthy living plan)
Thursday, November 23 – In School Grad Trans assembly to check for student progress
Friday, November 24, 2017 - Deadline number three for Graduation Transitions (annual Budget, Plan A and B)
Friday, January 26, 2018 – Deadline number four for Graduation Transitions (online portfolio completed and preparation for interview process)
Exit Interviews will be on Tuesday, February 27th , 2018. There will be a interview panel consisting of Selkirk PAC members, local business owners, Selkirk teachers and SD6 Administrative staff. You will be asked to present your future plans, using an online portfolio (as seen below), highlighting who you are and what your plan is after graduation.
You will sign up for a presentation time at our Grade 12 assembly on Tuesday, February 6th, 2018 (second C Block). This will also be your third and final Grad Trans ‘class’. All Grade 12s must attend this meeting. If you have a conflict with the Exit Interview date, you MUST talk to Mr. Sharun ASAP and an alternative date for an interview will be arranged.
