PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE FOR FEBRUARY
Welcome to second semester! I would like to thank all staff for your work in getting our students prepared to write their semester 1 final exams and congratulate students on the great effort that we saw the majority of you put into writing your exams and finishing your courses. With the start of the second semester, we unfortunately say goodbye to Mrs. A.R. who has been such an important member to the Selkirk team for so many years. We are happy to welcome aboard Justina Higgs who is replacing Mrs. A.R. for the second semester and Chris Ferguson who will be teaching our Outdoors 9 class and our Outdoor Careers and Geography 12 class. The month of February will be a busy one with a number of activities happening including sports tournaments, a MADD assembly early in the month, and Pink Shirt Day at the end of the month to promote anti-bullying and awareness around social responsibility in our school. Within this newsletter, you will see important information regarding course selections for next school year, highlights from January, and upcoming events in February and March. A reminder for parents to contact the office or subject teacher anytime during the semester should you wish an update on your son/daughter regarding academic progress or attendance. Here’s to another great month at Selkirk! ~Clint Dolgopol
