Welcome the Selkirk Learning Centre

The Learning Centre is open to students for study, computer use, coursework, and lunch. Students may come to the Learning Centre during class time with permission from a teacher.

We allow students to eat lunch at tables in the Learning Centre. No food or drink are allowed at computers or on the couches.

Fiction and Non-Fiction Books

Computer Terminals all have internet access with Microsoft Office software. Student login details are: firstname.lastname followed by a password.

The entire book collection can be searched using the L4U system found on the desktop screen of each computer.

LOAN PERIODS 4 item limit for a period of 2 weeks. Books need to be returned or renewed within 2 weeks.

Late Fees: There are no late fines but you are expected to return all borrowed materials on time. You may renew a book at any time as long as you do not have any that are overdue. If you damage or lose library materials you have to pay to repair or replace them.

Holds: If a book you want is out, you can ask to have it reserved for you at the circulation desk.

Requests: Please let Mrs. White know if there is a book you want that is not in the Learning Centre. You can recommend a book for purchase.

Photo Copier: Printing is available in the Learning Centre and each student is allotted 100 pages per year. If students exceed their printing limit they are to see Ms. Smith-Hodgson in the office.
