Alexander Park Elementary School
Weyt-kp!Hello! Kiʔsuk kyukyit! Tawnshi!

Alexander Park Elementary School supports learning that is place-based and focused on environmental stewardship. We endeavour to honour the land by strengthening our relationship and responsibilities to it. We acknowledge, with gratitude, that this beautiful place where we live, work, and play is the traditional territory of the Secwepemc and the Ktunaxa people, and a crossover territory of many Indigenous groups. We also have more than 200 years of Métis history in Golden, and our area is the chosen home of the Métis Nation Columbia River community.

Our School's Vision

Welcome to Alexander Park School where we discover our world through progressive practices in a respectful, caring environment.

Our vision is supported by modeling and teaching five values every day at school:

Everyone Belongs: we are stronger because we are unique.
Be considerate of others, self, and the environment.
We own our mistakes and fix them.
Every moment is an opportunity for growth.
Celebrate the joy in every day.

We believe through explicit teaching and modeling students will become the types of people who will lead by demonstrating these values during routine daily interactions with each other and the community.
