School District No. 6 (Rocky Mountain) is now accepting applications for Casual Responsible Adults in the Kimberley Zone.
The Responsible Adult (RA) supports the delivery of early learning for children. The RA works under the supervision of an Early Childhood Educator and/or an Early Childhood Education Assistant and is responsible for supporting the day-to-day coordination and delivery of quality licensed early learning programming.
The ideal candidate will:
- Genuinely enjoy supporting the delivery of early childhood experiences with children both indoors and outdoors.
- Foster a safe and welcoming environment for children and families.
- Provide responsible and effective supervision of children.
- Encourage positive social interactions with children, staff, and families.
- Model confidentiality and only share student and/or family concerns with staff members.
- Assist with daily cleaning, disinfecting, general housekeeping and regular environmental safety checks of equipment and areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
- Demonstrated experience working with children.
- Collaborative approach to working with staff and children.
- Ability to extend and model patience, care, tolerance and understanding when working with staff, children, and families.
- Ability to communicate in a positive, encouraging tone when redirecting children.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- A demonstrated commitment to working towards Truth and Reconciliation.
Training and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Successful completion of the Responsible Adult course or have enough sufficient, relevant experience working with children to be deemed a Responsible Adult as per the Child Care Licensing Regulations.
- Proven exemplary interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of computer functions.
- Current Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR Certificate.
- Current Food Safe Certificate would be an asset.
Rate of Pay
$23.50/hr, As per the Collective Agreement 440
