Rocky Mountain Schools Raise Over $5,800 for Cancer Research in 2024 Terry Fox School Run
The Rocky Mountain School District is proud to announce that our schools collectively raised an inspiring $5,833.42 during the 2024–25 Terry Fox School Run, contributing to the nearly $14 million raised by schools across Canada in support of cancer research.
This achievement reflects the compassion, determination, and community spirit of our students, staff, and families. From Invermere to Golden, and Kimberley to Edgewater, schools across the district came together in the spirit of Terry Fox’s legacy—demonstrating that even small steps can lead to monumental change.
“We are incredibly proud of our students and school communities for their leadership and generosity,” said Aaron Callaghan, Superintendent of Schools. “Their efforts not only honor Terry’s legacy but also inspire hope and action in the fight against cancer.”
The Terry Fox Foundation also celebrated a milestone this year, registering over 10,000 schools nationwide for the first time. As we look ahead to the 45th anniversary of Terry’s Marathon of Hope in 2025, the Foundation’s new campaign, #FinishIt, calls on Canadians to help complete the journey Terry began.
We thank all participating schools and encourage continued support for the upcoming 2025 Terry Fox School Run, scheduled for Thursday, September 25, 2025. Together, we can help finish what Terry started.
