Welcome Back to School – A Message from the Superintendent & Board Chair
On Wednesday September 3rd, we will welcome students & staff back for a brand-new school year! Whether you're joining us for the first time or returning after the summer break, we want to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to each and every one of you.
From Golden to Kimberley, our district is home to vibrant communities, inclusive schools and dedicated staff that serve learners and their families from Kindergarten through Grade 12. As the 2025–26 school year begins, we are excited to open our doors and fill our classrooms once again with the energy, curiosity, and potential that each learner brings.
In the days ahead, you’ll be hearing from your school principals who will be sharing important updates, key dates, and warm welcomes of their own. Please remember to check your school’s website for updated bell schedules and other helpful back-to-school information.
As we begin this school year, our focus as a school district remains on connection, belonging, and learning. We are eager to support our learners as they grow, challenge themselves, and create meaningful memories. Aligned with our district’s strategic plan, we are committed this year to:
- Enhancing student well-being by providing comprehensive supports and fostering safe, respectful learning environments.
- Advancing inclusion and equity by celebrating diversity and ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed.
- Integrating innovative technologies to support personalized learning experiences and prepare students for the future.
- Strengthening community partnerships to enrich educational experiences and build a supportive network for our students and families.
We look forward to partnering with families and staff to bring these priorities to life, and to seeing many of you in classrooms, at school events, and throughout our communities in the upcoming year.
Warm regards,
Amber Byklum, Chairperson, Board of Education
Aaron Callaghan, Superintendent of Schools
