Principal and three students presenting a cheque to the food bank
Principal Goslin and three students present the Columbia Valley Food Bank with cheque

The staff, students, and community of Eileen Madson Primary School (EMP) put their best holiday foot forward this season and raised $575 to donate to the Columbia Valley Food Bank. It was a great way to have fun and to give back to this great community

The families of EMP donated new items that they had around the house. Students were then asked to bring in a couple of dollars, and could bring in more to support those families that could not afford to do so, or just to add to the donations. These students then got to go “shopping” for items for important adults in their lives – parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles – and have them wrapped so the adults would get a surprise on Christmas, or however they celebrate!

The Christmas/Holiday Market was a grand success, with all kids having a great time, getting things for their families and raising money for the Food Bank. All extra items were donated to the Thrift Store in Invermere.
