
The Rocky Mountain School District is pleased to share the following leadership and district staffing updates for the 2024-25 school year:
Jodi Casey
A teacher at Eileen Madson Primary School, Jodi has been appointed Principal of Eileen Madson Primary School. Jodi has worked in Rocky Mountain School District since 2000 and has been an active participant in the Aspiring Leaders Program. Jodi has provided experience and leadership in the early years' literacy and numeracy programs as a school lead contact.
Rebecka Riddell-McKay
Formerly the Principal of Eileen Madson Primary School, Rebecka has accepted a new Principalship at Valemount Elementary School in Valemount, British Columbia. Rocky Mountain School District wishes Rebecka every success in her new leadership role in Prince George School District.
Heather English
Previously serving as Vice Principal at David Thompson Secondary School, Heather has been appointed Acting Principal of David Thompson Secondary School. Heather recently received her Master of Education degree from the University of Northern BC in Special Education.
Michael Hubick
Formerly the Principal of David Thompson Secondary School, Mike has transitioned back into the classroom at J Alfred Laird Elementary School. Rocky Mountain School District wishes Mike every success in his new role and thanks him for his service to the students and families of David Thompson Secondary.
Teresa Vancise Previously Principal of Martin Morigeau Elementary School, Teresa has been appointed Vice Principal at David Thompson Secondary School. Students, staff, and families will appreciate Teresa’s attention and experience in providing student-centred, trauma informed leadership to David Thompson Secondary. Rocky Mountain School District thanks Teresa for her contributions to the staff and students at MMES.
Kristin Insull
Kristin is the current District Vice Principal of Numeracy and will be taking on additional responsibilities as Vice Principal at David Thompson Secondary School. Kristin has been
instrumental in leading a group of numeracy leaders in the district and has been integral to the implementation of the Rocky Mountain Numeracy Assessment in Grades 8 and 9.
Crystal Woodworth
Previously Vice Principal of J Alfred Laird Elementary School, Crystal has been appointed Principal at Martin Morigeau Elementary School. Crystal brings many strengths to her new role, including the ability to build strong relationships. Rocky Mountain School District thanks Crystal for her contributions to the staff and students at Laird.
Kari Mason
Kari is the current District Vice Principal of Learning Services and will be taking on additional responsibilities as Vice Principal at J Alfred Laird Elementary School. Students, staff, and families of J Alfred Laird will benefit from Kari’s expertise and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Jenny Reid
Formerly the District Principal at Yellowknife Catholic Schools, Jenny has been appointed District Principal of Indigenous Learning and Equity effective August 1, 2024. Jenny has a Master of Education degree from St. Francis Xavier University in Educational Leadership and is a proud member of the Ehdiitat Gwich’in Tribal Council of the Northwest Territories.
Melanie Spencer
With previous experiences at the University of Calgary, Melanie joined Rocky Mountain School District in the late Spring as Executive and Communications Assistant. Melanie brings great expertise in office management from the post-secondary and corporate security sectors and will be an asset to the district. Welcome to the school district, Melanie!
Eric Larocque
Formerly the Program Coordinator at the Golden Food Bank Society, Eric joins Rocky Mountain as the District School Food Coordinator. Eric will work with school staff to support existing school food programming while collaboratively exploring further opportunities. Welcome Eric!
